What is a Declaration of Field of Interest?
The declaration of your field of interest informs judges about the thought process behind your work and is 40% of your portfolio score. What inspires you to create? What is your vision/philosophy? What techniques and style do you use? What are the important messages that you would like to convey with your work? What are your goals for the future? Your statement should be 200 words or less.

February - March 2012 E4 Youth is offering a series of tours of local businesses and colleges. Look for field trip announcements on Media Xperiments where you'll be able to reserve spots on a first come, first serve basis. Field trips are free to students but they must work with their parents, teachers and friends to provide their own transportation to and from these events.

What are some tips for building my portfolio??
40% of your portfolio score is based on your written statement of work. So, take time to think about how you describe yourself and your work. Use proper grammar.
Be creative and do what you do best. Collaborate with your fellow students. Consider making videos or podcasts about your field of interest. Take some photos or videos of your work and incorporate them into a blog.
